Born out of a vision to revolutionise footwear design in India, 257 (Two Fifty Seven) is a trailblazing brand that challenges the status quo. Founded by Swati Singh, a NIFT Delhi graduate from the Accessory Design department, the brand draws its name and inspiration from her birthday—25th July. This personal yet bold touch sets the tone for a label that thrives on individuality, creativity, and innovation.

The branding project for 257 was rooted in its ethos: redefining footwear with edgy silhouettes, vibrant hues, and intricate hardware details. The visual identity needed to reflect the brand’s fearless approach to design while staying true to its commitment to quality, comfort, and sustainability.

The logo and typography for 257 were meticulously crafted to embody the brand's dynamic spirit. Using the bold and modern Therma font paired with the expressive and playful Abacaxi, the typography creates a perfect balance of structure and creativity. These fonts complement the brand’s vibrant personality while ensuring versatility across digital and print platforms. The logo itself is a minimalist yet striking representation of the brand’s identity. Its clean lines and contemporary form resonate with 257’s mission to push boundaries and make a bold statement in the fashion landscape. 

257’s communication style mirrors its design philosophy: unapologetically expressive, confident, and forward-thinking. The tone is conversational yet empowering, inviting its audience to embrace individuality and creativity through their footwear choices.

Drawing inspiration from 257’s Instagram presence, the visual language is vibrant, edgy, and immersive. Bold color palettes, dynamic shapes, and intricate textures echo the brand’s core values. Each design element is a nod to the brand’s commitment to innovation and its celebration of non-conventional aesthetics. A key aspect of 257’s identity is its dedication to sustainability. By exclusively using non-leather materials, the brand aligns itself with eco-conscious practices, offering fashion-forward designs without compromising on ethics.

 

Every pair of 257 footwear is designed and manufactured in Delhi, India, combining cutting-edge design with impeccable craftsmanship. The brand stands as a testament to the creative potential of Indian designers on the global stage.
